Employee engagement
Our employees paint the path to brighter communities
With the help of our thousands of employees, we have an opportunity to make many positive impacts in the places we call home. We know the most powerful way to make a difference is when our employees lead the way.
To accomplish this, each of our global regions offers tailored opportunities for employees to volunteer with our nonprofit partners. From painting alongside colleagues during a Colorful Communities project to teaching STEM concepts to young kids at an afterschool program, these efforts amplify our grants and deepen our impact.
Empowering community commitments
PPG and PPG Foundation proudly support our generous employees through several programs:
- Matching Gifts: When our employees donate to causes they care about, we double the impact.
- GIVE: Our employees give their time to deserving organizations. We give $500 grants.
- Innovative Classroom Grants: Employees sponsor $1,000 STEM grants to local schools to spark student learning.
- Charity Partner: From bake sales to raffles and more, our employees raise funds for partner organizations to raise funds. We match their efforts dollar for dollar.
- National Merit Scholarship: We invest in the academic futures of our employees’ children and in students in our communities.
- Volunteer Time Off: We enable employees to get out of the office and into the community with paid time off.
Puppy Love in Brno
Our employees in Brno, Czech Republic, spent more than 3,000 hours with canine friends from the Vodicí pes organization, a training center for future guide dogs, as part of the region’s Charity Partner program.
Sharing Technology Insights
More than 75 PPG Information Technology employees introduced students from the Boys & Girls Clubs® (BGC) of Western Pennsylvania to technology lessons including artificial intelligence, computer programming, robotics, and more as part of a new program co-created by PPG Foundation and BGC.

In my daily job we work on getting results, achieving our targets, protecting and beautifying the world indeed; but to engage our employees in this kind of Colorful Communities project and to work with the staff at András Pető College, who were highly committed to making the children’s lives better, was another dimension.
